Following two draws against Saint-Malo (1–1) and Brighton (1–1), the Paris Saint-Germain Women’s team were back in action for their third pre-season friendly. Playing at the Campus PSG, it was the Bundesliga side Union Berlin who opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour (0–1, 15'). Paulo César’s side responded immediately, with Alyssa Charlier equalising a few minutes later following some team pressing (1–1, 18'). But towards the end of the first half, the German side regained the lead thanks to Lia Kamber’s second goal (1–2, 45’+1), allowing her team to head into the break one goal ahead.
In the second half, the Berlin side got off to a flying start, extending their lead just a few minutes after the restart through Belgian international Jill Janssens (1–3, 49'). The capital club then made a number of changes in a bid to turn the tide, notably bringing on Océane Toussaint, Yaya, Floriane Jourde and Merveille Kanjinga, but to no avail. The Rouge et Bleue, who suffered the first defeat of their pre-season campaign, will now turn their attention to their next assignment: a pre-season training camp in Murcia, Spain, where they will face Valencia CF’s women’s team next Tuesday (6pm).
