Safonov, Hakimi (Ruiz, 39'), Marquinhos (C), Pacho, Mendes, Vitinha, Zaïre-Emery (Dro, 77'), Neves, Kvaratskhelia (Doué, 66'), Dembélé (Akliouche, 66'), Ferran (Godts, 77').
Les Parisiens headed to the tip of Brittany on Sunday looking to secure their first league victory of the season. From the opening whistle, the Rouge et Bleu showed plenty of determination in their pursuit, adopting a highly attacking approach that paid off when Ferran Torres found the net from 20 yards out after a superb lay-off from Ousmane Dembélé (0–1, 5').
The Paris attack continued to cause problems, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia next to trouble the Breton defence, though he couldn't double his side's lead (9', 23'). After half an hour of one-way traffic, Brest finally managed to find their footing and tested Matvey Safonov, who produced an excellent reflex save to keep out Pathé Mboup’s deflected shot (37').
In front of their home supporters, the Bretons had no intention of giving up, and Paris had their post to thank as it denied Kamory Doumbia (50'). The hosts kept pushing, with Bradley Locko delivering a cross for Doumbia once again, only for his header to be brilliantly kept out by an imperious Matvey Safonov with a strong one-handed save (57'). The two sides traded blows, and the club from the capital then turned to substitutes Désiré Doué and Maghnes Akliouche.
The pair combined to set up João Neves at the far post, but his effort was denied by Egil Selvik (71'). In the closing stages, the pressure from Brest intensified, and the lively Pathé Mboup tested Matvey Safonov once again. The goalkeeper produced another outstanding save (87'), securing a valuable victory for Paris Saint-Germain in Finistère.
The joy of Ferran Torres, scorer of the match’s only goal and the first Parisian to record 6 goals in his first 5 competitive appearances for the Rouge et Bleu since… Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2012.
