Born on 7 June 2005 in Leuven, Belgium, Mika Godts came through the youth ranks at RSC Anderlecht before moving to KRC Genk in 2020. He quickly established himself as one of Belgian football’s brightest prospects, notably through his performances in the UEFA Youth League. In January 2023, he signed for Ajax Amsterdam to continue his development with Jong Ajax. After one and a half seasons with the Ajax youth side, Mika Godts had scored 9 goals and provided 4 assists in 25 matches. His performances saw him gradually step up to the senior squad during the 2023–24 campaign, and he made his first-team debut in the Dutch first division on 9 April 2023 against Fortuna Sittard, at just 17 years of age.
Playing for Ajax, the right-footed Belgian winger caught the eye with his dribbling and attacking skills. In his first full season as a professional in 2024–25, Mika Godts played 47 matches across all competitions, scoring 8 goals, including 3 in the UEFA Europa League, and providing 7 assists. The following season, he confirmed his emerging status with 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 matches, making a particular impression with a 25-metre strike against Utrecht in November 2025 and a spectacular run through the defence against NAC Breda in April 2026. Following a successful season, he became only the third Ajax player since 2010 to reach 15 goals and 15 assists in a single campaign.
A Belgium youth international since the U15 level, Mika Godts has represented all the youth teams up to the U19s. In May 2022, at the age of 16, he took part in the UEFA European Under-17 Championship. In total, he has played 16 matches for Belgium’s youth teams, scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists. His performances earned him his first call-up to the Red Devils on 28 March this year, and he now has 2 caps to his name.
I feel incredibly proud to be joining one of the best clubs in the world. I can’t wait to pull on this shirt and experience the Parc des Princes and its supporters. I’ll give my all on the pitch to repay the faith placed in me by President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos and coach Luis Enrique.
