Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Merveille Kanjinga began her professional career at TP Mazembe in 2021. Top scorer in the league in her very first season with 23 goals, she went on to play a key part in a golden era for the Congolese club, winning three DRC league and cup doubles (2022, 2023, 2024), two UNIFFAC tournaments (2022, 2024) and the CAF Champions League in 2024. Voted the best player in the Congolese league in 2022 and 2024, she was also named the best player of the UNIFFAC tournament in 2022.
Having joined Paris Saint-Germain in January 2025, Merveille Kanjinga quickly established herself within the Rouge et Bleu squad. In 47 matches across all competitions, the Congolese forward scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists. These performances saw her finish as the top assist provider in the Arkema Première Ligue in the 2025–2026 season and earn a place in the league’s Team of the Season, confirming her growing importance to the Parisian project, where she will wear the number 19 shirt.
On the international stage, Merveille Kanjinga has made 10 appearances and scored 5 goals for the Democratic Republic of the Congo national team. In particular, she played a key role in the historic return of the Léopards Dames to the Women's African Cup of Nations in 2024, actively contributing to her team’s qualification for the tournament after an absence of more than twelve years.
I am delighted to have extended my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. I feel that the club believes in me, and that motivates me even more to keep improving and to give my very best for this team. I want to experience some great moments here and win lots of trophies for the Parisian fans.
Paris Saint-Germain is thrilled about Merveille Kanjinga’s contract extension and wish her continued success in the Rouge et Bleu colours.
