Born on 25 February 2009 in the Netherlands, Maren Groothoff previously played for PEC Zwolle, where she continued her development. One of the most promising goalkeepers of her generation, she now joins Paris Saint-Germain's Academy and will be part of the Club's U19 squad as she continues her progression.
A Netherlands U17 international, Maren Groothoff has impressed with her national team in recent months. First-choice goalkeeper during the 2025 UEFA Women's Under-17 European Championship, she played a key role in her country's continental triumph, notably producing an outstanding performance in the semi-final against France, which the Netherlands won on penalties.
A few months later, the young goalkeeper also represented the Netherlands at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. Starting every match throughout the tournament, she helped guide her team to the final, marking a historic first for the Dutch national team at this age category.
Recognised for her game reading, composure and ability to perform in decisive moments, Maren Groothoff will continue her development in the Red & Blue environment with the ambition of establishing herself as part of Paris Saint-Germain's long-term project.
