“Today was more difficult than usual. In the first half, there were situations we weren't able to control. Rennes launched some top-class counter-attacks, and they managed to score two goals with great precision. It was very complicated, very difficult. We tried to make some changes, and I’m particularly pleased with the five players who came on during the match. They all did a very good job. The supporters are incredible; whatever our performance, they’re always there to support the team. We’d like to thank them and we hope to improve. That’s our job, and I hope we can play much better.”
“I’m not entirely satisfied, because deep down, we wanted to start with a win but if we can’t win, we must at least avoid losing. I think we improved as the match went on and now we need to keep working hard to prepare for the next game. We’re leaving with mixed feelings, because we always want to win every match. The fans? I want to say a big thank you to them for their support. You’re our 12th man, and we’re going to give you plenty of moments of joy.”
"We were 2–0 down. In the second half, we came out determined to fight back, and we did just that. I was pleased to make my debut, but we were behind so I tried to focus on my own game. The fans are important; they help us a lot. We saw that when we scored to make it 2–1, they helped us go on to score the second.”
