“It’s always frustrating. But we need to analyse, assess and recognise what we did, because I think we played a very good match. I’m very pleased with what I saw in the first half, but the score was 1–0. Football is incredible, it’s so unfair. But we also have to congratulate our opponents, Lens, because they scored one more goal than us and, in the end, that’s what matters in a match. In the second half, we tried to create even more chances.
We missed some very clear opportunities. Whether it was Ousmane or Nuno Mendes, we created chances to equalise, but that’s football, you have to accept it. I was pleased with what I saw, I’m happy but frustrated. It’s been a unique week, with two finals in four days. We’ve got time to prepare the team, to improve our fitness and technique, and to prepare for the week in the best possible way to start the league.”
"We just didn't score our chances. We created a lot, but sometimes football is like that. You can win, you can lose, that's football. We will prepare for the season because we know how hard it is. It's really needed for us as a team, to get back on track. But we will focus on the next game and we will win."
