Luis Enrique: 'I believe we deserved this win'

Paris Saint-Germain coach and new signing Illia Zabarnyi spoke to PSG TV after their 1-0 victory over FC Nantes on Sunday 17 August, at the Stade de la Beaujoire, on Matchday 1 of Ligue 1.

“The most important thing is the three points. At the same time, I think the team played well. I believe we deserved the win, but it was tough because Nantes defended very well, sitting deep. Right now, improving in terms of fitness and our ability to use the ball is very important. If we want to have the chance to win everything and prepare ourselves for that, we need all the players. At the moment, I think being able to play with many players is important, and it’s a sine qua non.”

“I feel great. I really enjoyed being on the pitch today. I was glad to play the whole match and enjoyed myself. I feel well. I really enjoyed playing with the ball. I stayed focused because they were trying to counter-attack with a low block, so it’s a bit different. But for me, it was fine, I enjoyed today. I love the fans, they’re incredible! They never stop singing, it’s amazing. It feels great to hear them.”
