Paris Saint-Germain’s coach answered questions from PSG TV and the media on the eve of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Round of 16 match against Inter Miami CF, which will take place on Sunday 29 June (18:00 in France / 12:00 in Georgia, USA) at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Excerpts below.
ATLANTA
“I just saw it – it’s an exceptional and spectacular stadium. It’s a very motivating match for all the players. The week of training went really well, and we’ve adapted to the heat. I think Sunday’s match will be a very good one. I hope and I believe, that we’re ready.”
A SPECIAL MATCH
“Emotionally, it’ll be a very different, very special match. I’ll be happy to see again players I’ve crossed paths with in my career. They’re more than just players to me – they’re friends. We have to be professional, stay focused, and prepare well for the match, but emotionally, it will definitely be something special.”
JAVIER MASCHERANO
“I’m not surprised he became a coach, because I know the player he was. I know him very well and I knew he’d become a coach. He’s someone I’ve shared a lot with. I’m happy to know he’s coaching. He has time to become a great coach. That’s what I wish for him.”
CLUB WORLD CUP
“Having the chance to play in countries where people usually can only watch us on TV, like in the United States, Central America or South America, is wonderful. You can see here how much joy the people are getting from seeing us. It’s fantastic, just like playing against teams from different continents. It’s amazing to be able to see all these teams.”
