The seasons come and go, but some traditions endure. Since joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, Luc Steins has continued to rack up trophies and nominations. Voted Starligue Player of the Year three years running (between 2021 and 2023), and topping the league’s assists chart in 2024 (238) and 2025 (216), Steins has managed to maintain a level of play that ranks among the very best in the top flight, if not in Europe.
Our centre-half has played a key role in Les Rouge et Bleus' perfect start to the league season. Having already been nominated for the Team of the Week after a stellar performance in the Matchday 4 win in Limoges (six goals, 11 assists), the Dutch international is now setting his sights on the Player of the Month award. After the first four matchdays, his statistics speak for themselves (14 goals, 33 assists, four recoveries). However, his rivals also have strong points in their favour.
With Zoran Radic (45 saves at 37 per cent – the highest number of saves and best save percentage in the top flight), who will face the Parisians on Thursday 1 October, and Montpellier’s Bryan Monte (25 goals, 14 assists, 11 saves, three blocks and three recoveries) both in ferocious form, the battle to get their hands on the season’s first trophy promises to be a tough one.
