Theere was plenty of hard work - but also plenty of smiles - at the Suchet Sports Centre this morning. Our handball players resumed training on Friday 9 January 2026, three weeks after their spectacular draw away to Nantes (31-31). The Parisians took advantage of the winter break to recharge their batteries and return in top form, ready to tackle the second half of the season in the best possible frame of mind.
The squad was without seven international players, called up by their respective national teams to compete in the EHF Euro 2026 (France's Wallem Peleka, Karl Konan and Elohim Prandi, as well as Mateo Maras, Luc Steins and Sebastian Karlsson) and the African Cup of Nations (Yahia Omar). Many young players were therefore present for the day's training session, under the watchful eye of youth academy director Thierry Perreux.
Stefan Madsen's men completed a session lasting around 90 minutes, mainly focused on warming up their muscles after a long break. Les Rouge et Bleu also did their first ball work for 2026, kicking off the process of getting ready for their return to official competition against Saran in the Coupe de France on 7 February.
February will be marked by the return of the EHF Champions League, with two matches scheduled: in Zagreb on 18 February and at home to Szeged on 26 February. Before that, the Liqui Moly Starligue - in which les Rouge et Bleu currently sit top of the table - will resume with an away match at Dunkerque on 13 February (20:00).
