Facing Racing in their first league match of the season at the Campus PSG, the Parisian ladies quickly took control of the game. Captain Sakina Karchaoui led the charge for the Rouge et Bleue by setting up Merveille Kanjinga, who made no mistake from six yards out and gave her team the lead (1-0, 12').
Very involved in play during the first half-hour, the Congolese forward put the Alsatian defence under pressure, as did Joe Echegini, who couldn't find the target (34', 42'). Paulo César’s players, who dominated the match, finished the first half well, but Manon Wahl and the Strasbourg back line held firm against the capital club’s attacks. The visitors, meanwhile, struggled offensively and failed to get a single shot on target during the first half.
Early in the second half, it was Naomie Feller’s turn to test the Alsatian goalkeeper, who stood firm (48', 49'). More chances followed for the Parisians, but Florianne Jourde failed to find the target (51', 52'). It wasn’t until the hour mark that the capital club were finally rewarded, when Sakina Karchaoui converted a penalty won by Naomie Feller (2–0, 61').
The home side could have got another had Rasheedat Ajibade’s right-footed effort not struck the Strasbourg post (66'). Pinned back in their own half, Vincent Nogueira’s players couldn’t find a way back into the game, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Women’s team secured their second win in as many games.
