PSG Academy Qatar make history by winning the first Women's Premier League
Undefeated, unstoppable, inspiring: that's how you could describe this team's remarkable performance, which captured the imagination throughout an intense competition, launched in April and concluded in June 2025.
The new league, the result of an ambitious collaboration between PSG, JPL and a number of local clubs and academies, aimed to provide a high-level platform for the development of women's football in Qatar. Ten teams took part in this first season, including two representing the PSG Academy Qatar: the elite women's team and an U17 selection.
It was in an atmosphere charged with emotion that the elite team lifted the trophy on an unforgettable afternoon, sealing a perfect season marked by consistency and mastery.
The league's initiative is part of a drive for the sustainable development of women's sport in the region, based on solid partnerships, an inclusive vision and a long-term strategy.
"The PSG Academy Qatar has been actively involved in the development of women's football for almost five years. Today, the Academy has almost 200 players in various age categories. Every day, we carry out initiatives to raise awareness and promote women's sport in schools and universities, as part of our partnership with the Qatar Foundation. Thanks to this ongoing commitment, the PSG Academy Qatar has established itself as a key player and a benchmark for women's sport in Qatar and more widely in the Middle East," explained Cyril Klosek, General Manager of the PSG Academy Qatar.
By establishing themselves as the first-ever champions, the PSG Academy Qatar players won more than a title - they also opened a new page in the history of sport in Qatar.
