From the history of the fixture to the current form of both sides and all the key statistics in between – here’s where you’ll find all there is to know about the Ligue 1 – Matchday 8 clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes, this Monday 26 October at 20:30 CET.

This fixture has twice ended in a four-all draw: on 13 September 1974 and 25 February 2012. It’s an exceedingly rare scoreline for Les Parisien having occurred just three times in the top flight since 1970 (with Amiens, on 15/02/2020) in 1978 matches played.

Having scored in each of his last three competitive matches (Manchester City, Strasbourg and Barcelona) Désiré Doué can equal his personal club record of scoring in four consecutive official matches if he nets against Lyon. He set his previous best in the 2024-25 campaign against Saint-Etienne, Dunkerque, Angers and Aston Villa.

Paris Saint-Germain are currently on a run of seven consecutive victories in competitive matches, the club’s best run since winning ten straight matches in the 2024-25 campaign.

Kylian Mbappé is Paris’ all-time leading goal scorer against Lyon with 12 goals, ahead of Edinson Cavani (9 goals), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (7 goals) and Mustapha Dahleb (6 goals).

Paris Saint-Germain have scored at least once in each of their last 27 Ligue 1 matches, since the 1-0 loss to Monaco on 29 November 2025.

28 players have played for both clubs: Bradley Barcola, Hatem Ben Arfa, Milan Bisevac, Mathieu Bodmer, Luc Borrelli, Daniel Bravo, François Brisson, Jérémy Clément, Grégory Coupet, James Debbah, Vikash Dhorasoo, Jean Djorkaeff, Raymond Domenech, Fabrice Fiorèse, Pierre-Alain Frau, Laurent Fournier, Franck Gava, Ludovic Giuly, Pascal Havet, David Hellebuyck, Christophe Jallet, Gérard Lanthier, Patrice Loko, Peguy Luyindula, Florian Maurice, Bruno Ngotty, Jean-Luc Sassus and Daniel Xuereb. Current Lyon goalkeeper Rémy Descamps is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy but never played a first-team game for Les Rouge et Bleu.

The last scoreless draw between the two sides in Ligue 1 came way back on 24 April 2009; that’s a run of 34 consecutive matches.

After Paris Saint-Germain, present in Ligue 1 since 1974, Lyon is the club with the second-longest constant presence in the French top flight where they have been since promotion in 1989, 37 seasons in a row.

Sunday’s clash will be the 40th meeting between the two sides since 2011 and the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain’s current owners. It’s the most matches played against any single opponent during that time for a record of 26 wins, five draws and eight losses.

Lucas Digne could play his 50th competitive match for Paris Saint-Germain.

Lyon have played 50 competitive matches against Paris at the Parc des Princes. Only five clubs have played more: Monaco (56 matches), Bordeaux, Marseille and Nantes (55 matches) and Lille (51 matches).

115

Sunday’s clash will be the 115th meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon. Paris has won 51, drawn 29 and lost 34 of the previous 114. Les Rouge et Bleu have only played Monaco more often (120 matches).

125

Luis Enrique has recorded 125 wins at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain and could equal the all-time club record of 126 wins, currently held by Laurent Blanc.

182

Paris has scored 182 goals against Lyon. It’s the highest number of goals scored by Paris Saint-Germain against any single opponent ahead of the 175 goals netted against Saint-Etienne.

1996

Paris Saint-Germain have scored 1996 goals since the arrival of the club’s current owners in 2011.
