After a three-week break, the Champions League returned! To round off the first half of the season, Stefan Madsen’s men faced RK Celje, bottom of Group C. With the youngest average age among the 24 teams in the 2026–2027 season and a veritable talent factory, the Slovenian side were determined to give it their all and relied heavily on the flair of Aljus Anzic, who, at just 18, is already making a name for himself across Europe!
As might be expected, underdogs Celje played without any pressure from the very first minutes. Although our Parisian side were caught off guard at first (3': 1-3), it didn’t take long to turn the situation around. Thanks to a run of six unanswered goals, fuelled by braces from Elohim Prandi and Elisson as well as a fine start from Mikkel Lovkvist in goal (four saves after ten minutes of play), our Parisian side quickly pulled away (10': 7–3). Faced with a spate of turnovers from his players, Klemen Luzar decided to call his first time-out as the quarter-hour mark approached (14': 11–5).
The Slovenian coach’s tactical adjustments failed, however, to make an impact against our dominant Rouge et Bleu. The link-up play between Elo’ and Bjarki Elisson was particularly devastating, with the Icelander scoring five goals from as many attempts (22': 16–10). A few minutes later, our winger headed into the changing rooms on the back of an impressive 7 from 7, having already helped the capital club take a big step towards victory (30t': 25–16).
As soon as play resumed, it was clear that our Parisians were not about to rest on their laurels. Despite being a man down, the capital club extended their lead to ten goals as Elohim Prandi scored his 1,400th goal for Paris Saint-Germain (33': 26–16). Moments later, it was Mateo Maras’s turn to hit a milestone strike: his 100th goal in Rouge et Bleu (35': 28–17).
Paris maintained a frenetic pace as Emil Mellegard and Sebastian Karlsson joined the party (43': 36–21). As the match entered the closing stages, the Parisians had already surpassed the 40-goal mark, with no fewer than 12 different scorers, led by Elo’ and Bjarki with seven goals apiece (53': 42–27). As the final buzzer sounded, the Ultras continued to cheer loudly to celebrate their players’ historic victory. With 46 goals scored, Stefan Madsen’s men broke the club record for goals scored in a Champions League match. An historic evening for a group of heroic players (60': 46–35)!
Elohim Prandi, Bjarki Elisson: Seven goals; Mateo Maras: six goals; Wallem Peleka, Noah Gaudin: four goals; Yahia Omar, Luc Steins, Sebastian Karlsson, Kamil Syprzak: three goals; Emil Mellegard, Ferran Solé, Luka Karabatic: two goals. Mikkel Lovkvist: 12 saves, Rodrigo Corrales: one.
Harnessing his legendary power, Elohim Prandi winds up to shoot just before scoring his 1,400th goal in all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain! Once again, our ‘bison’ played a major role in this historic victory with a perfect record in front of goal, converting all seven of his attempts.
Following this brilliant victory, Stefan Madsen’s men will once again be counting on your support at 19:00 on Saturday, when they play host to Toulouse in their StarLigue Matchday 6 clash. All the more so as our Parisians will then embark on a gruelling run of four consecutive away matches, travelling from Celje to Zagreb via Caen and Saint-Raphaël!
