Get to know the career so far of Paris Saint-Germain’s new signing, Mika Godts!

Born on 7 June 2005 in Tienen, Mika Godts began playing football in his native Belgium before joining Anderlecht’s academy. He spent nearly nine years there before moving to KRC Genk in the summer of 2020. It was no small decision: although he was not yet 15, the young attacking midfielder was already being courted by several major European clubs, including Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Manchester City.
In Genk, Godts continued to develop and progressed rapidly. During the first half of the 2022–23 season, he made his mark with Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League, scoring seven goals in nineteen matches. On 31 January 2023, aged just 17, he eventually joined Ajax. This fresh start soon bore fruit: on his debut for Jong Ajax, against MVV Maastricht, he came on in the second half and scored just a few minutes later after a long run from his own half.
It took just a few weeks for him to make his debut with the first team. On 9 April 2023, he played his first minutes in the Eredivisie against Fortuna Sittard. Since then, the young Belgian has gradually established himself as an increasingly important figure in Amsterdam, becoming one of Ajax’s key attacking assets.
The 2025–2026 season truly marked a step up for him. With 17 goals and 12 assists in the Eredivisie, Godts established himself as one of the most influential players in the Dutch league. This was a remarkable improvement for a player who, just a year earlier, was still struggling to find consistency and clinical finishing.
His playing style quickly caught the eye. A right-footed player who mainly operates on the left flank, the Belgian likes to draw out his opponent, cut inside and showcase his dribbling skills.
His performances have also earned him a call-up to the Red Devils. Having played for all the Belgian youth teams, Godts earned his first international cap in March 2026. At the age of 21, he is now set to embark on a new chapter and take on a fresh challenge with Paris Saint-Germain, where his attacking flair and ability to make a difference will be put to the test at the very highest level.
His first goal for Jong Ajax is already iconic. In his debut for the Amsterdam reserve side, on 20 February 2023 against MVV Maastricht, Godts won the ball back in his own half, drove forward with the ball at his feet and finished the move with a clinical strike. It took him just a few minutes to introduce himself to the Dutch fans.
