Just over six years after arriving in Paris, Ferran Solé has come a long way in Rouge et Bleu: 300 matches! Only five Parisian players have reached this milestone before him: Luka Karabatic (479 matches), Mikkel Hansen (416), Nikola Karabatic (348), Patrice Annonay (333) and Kamil Syprzak (318). By the end of the season, the Spanish winger could potentially break into the top five by overtaking the iconic goalkeeper and former capital club assistant coach.
Over the last six seasons, numerous players have played alongside Solé in the first team – 60 to be precise. On the right wing, Ferran has always formed a complementary partnership with his teammate in the same position, be it Benoît Kounkoud (2020–2022), David Balaguer (2022–2025) or Sebastian Karlsson (since 2025) - not to mention the occasional appearances by some of the youth academy’s young players such as Valentin Bzdynga (2020–2023) and Théo Ducap (since 2024).
With Paris, Ferran has taken part in every possible competition on the domestic and continental levels. From the Starligue (173 matches) to the Champions League (101), via the Coupe de France (18), the Trophée des Champions (5) and even the now-defunct Coupe de la Ligue (2). Having joined from Toulouse in the summer of 2020, the current Parisian number 14 has never shown any hesitation when facing his former team-mates. To date, Fenix have proven to be his favourite oponents, Ferran having plunedered 55 goals in 11 encounters against them.
In the Champions League, Zagreb would be well advised to keep a close eye on the Spaniard when they face the capital club in a few weeks’ time. The man from San Quirce del Vallès, on the outskirts of Barcelona, has found the net 30 times in six matches against the Croatians – more than against any other opponent in Europe’s premier competition.
From his first match, against Aix on 27 September 2020 (34-31), to his 300th against Saran on Thursday (27-36), Ferran Solé has consistently delighted his fans. Reliable, decisive and loyal, the Spaniard has made his mark on the history of Paris Saint-Germain Handball. Now, all eyes are turning to the next milestone. Not that of 400 matches, but the perhaps even more impressive feat of scoring 1,000 goals across all competitions. With Ferran's current tally standing at 981, this new milestone could be celebrated very soon, given his splendid form at the moment!
