Just over a week after kicking off their campaign with a 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid, the Paris Saint-Germain women’s team were aiming for their first win of the group stage against Belgian side OH Leuven. And Les Rouge et Bleu looked dangerous from the outset, and moments after an early warning from Florianne Jourde (8'), it was Rasheedat Ajibade who met a cross from Naomie Feller on the left to open the scoring for the home side (1–0, 9')!
Paulo César’s players were full of confidence, as demonstrated by Emilie Østerås’ long-range effort, which struck the Belgian crossbar before bouncing down and back out off the goal line (12'). Leuven were under pressure but their defence held firm, despite multiple attempts from Isabela (21', 25') and captain Sakina Karchaoui (23', 35', 39'). The visitors remained in the contest, but at half-time, it was the capital club who were in control of proceedings.
The second half began in much the same vein, with Paris immediately going on the attack through Rasheedat Ajibade, whose shot went wide (48'). Paris finally got the reward their attacking play deserved courtesy of a clinical finish from Naomie Feller's left foot (2–0, 51'). And the France international had no intention of stopping there, as she lurked like a fox in the box and pounced on the ball parried by the opposition goalkeeper to complete her brace (3–0, 63')!
Hungry for more, the Parisians continued to lay siege to the Belgian goal. Naomie Feller, once again, played a perfect through ball to Sakina Karchaoui, beat Lowiese Seynhaeve one-on-one (4–0, 69'). Spurred on by their supporters, the Parisian side kept looking for more. Paulo César’s players wasted no time in driving the nail home, with a fifth goal from Yayá (5–0, 84'), who was picked out on the edge of the box by Sakina Karchaoui, to seal Paris Saint-Germain’s resounding victory.
Naomie Feller celebrates her second goal of the evening. With two goals and two assists, the France international was directly involved in four of the five goals on the night.
