Paris Saint-Germain, a member of the wider Qatar Sports Investments family, and Art Basel have collaborated for several years on projects exploring the connections between sport, contemporary art and culture.
In 2024, during Art Basel Paris, the Club unveiled a large-scale temporary artwork at Parc des Princes, transforming its iconic stadium into a space for artistic expression. In 2025, Paris Saint-Germain, Qatar Airways and Art Basel introduced an exclusive pre-match kit inspired by the worlds of design and contemporary creativity.
This year, the collaboration continues with Spanish artist Edgar Plans, a recognised figure on the international contemporary art scene. Best known for his iconic “Animal Heroes”, Plans offers a unique interpretation of the Paris Saint-Germain universe through a limited-edition collection of jerseys and posters celebrating the Club’s 2026 UEFA Champions League triumph.
COLLECTION LAUNCH
The collection created by Edgar Plans is unveiled ahead of Art Basel 2026, which will take place from June 18 to 21.
For this project, the artist draws inspiration from one of the defining moments in Paris Saint-Germain’s history: the Club’s UEFA Champions League victory. Through his instantly recognisable visual language, populated by colourful characters and his signature “Animal Heroes”, Plans reinterprets the symbols of PSG and transforms a landmark sporting achievement into a collectible object.
Limited to 150 numbered jerseys and posters, the collection sits at the crossroads of football, contemporary art and collectible design. It reflects the growing influence of sport within contemporary culture and highlights the ways in which football continues to inspire new forms of creative expression.
The collection will be available exclusively at Art Basel in Basel, through the Art Basel Shop, before being released through Paris Saint-Germain's retail network at a later date.
As an artist, I am always inspired by stories that bring people together through emotion, passion and imagination. Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory is one of those rare moments that transcends sport and becomes part of a wider cultural narrative. Through this collaboration, I wanted to celebrate that achievement in my own visual language, combining the energy of football with the creativity and optimism embodied by my Animal Heroes. Seeing this artwork come to life as both a collectible poster and a limited-edition jersey makes this project especially meaningful, particularly in the context of Art Basel, where art, culture and new forms of expression come together.
MEET EDGAR PLANS ON JUNE 18
Edgar Plans will take part in a special signing session, on June 18, from 3:00pm to 3:30pm, at the Qatar Lounge within Art Basel.
The event will offer visitors the opportunity to engage directly with the artist and learn more about the creative process behind the collaboration. Discussions will explore the connections between contemporary art, popular culture, sport and collectible design — themes that are central both to Plans’ artistic practice and to this project.
The signing session will also highlight the exclusivity of this limited-edition collection, conceived as an artistic tribute to one of the most significant moments in Paris Saint-Germain’s history.
