Born in Villeurbanne, Bradley Barcola began playing football for his local club, AS Buers Villeurbanne, in 2008 before joining Olympique Lyonnais in 2010 at the age of eight. A forward capable of playing in any attacking position, he gradually worked his way up through the ranks of Lyon’s youth academy before joining the first-team squad for the 2021–22 season.
The young winger made his debut for OL’s first team on 4 November 2021, against Sparta Prague (3–0) in the UEFA Europa League group stage. Coming on as a substitute with eight minutes remaining, he immediately made his mark by providing an assist. A versatile player, Barcola scored his first professional goal on 7 January 2023 against FC Metz (2–1) in the Coupe de France round of 32. Over the course of the 2022–2023 season, he established himself as a regular starter for Lyon and finished the campaign with five goals and nine assists in 26 Ligue 1 matches.
After a strong first season in the league, the promising young Frenchman joined Paris Saint-Germain during the 2023 summer transfer window and quickly established himself as a key member of the Parisian squad. Thanks to his pace, ability to drive forward and knack for making a difference in one-on-one situations, he played an active part in the club’s successes. In particular, he played a key role in Paris Saint-Germain’s first-ever Champions League triumph, proving decisive with a goal and an assist in the match against Manchester City (4–2) at the Parc des Princes on 22 January 2025. Wearing the Rouge et Bleu jersey, Bradley Barcola made 152 appearances, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists while adding two Champions League titles, three French League titles, three Trophées des Champions, two Coupe de France titles, two UEFA Super Cups and one Intercontinental Cup to his list of honours.
His performances for Paris Saint-Germain also earned him a call-up to the French national team. Selected by Didier Deschamps to take part in Euro 2024, he proved decisive from his very first appearance in the tricolour jersey. On 6 September 2024, he scored his first goal for Les Bleus against Italy (1–3) at the Parc des Princes after just 13 seconds of play, thereby becoming the scorer of the fastest goal in the history of the French national team. This summer, he played in his first World Cup with Les Bleus, a tournament in which he once again proved decisive, bagging three goals and one assist.
