Ballon d'Or 2025: A historic ceremony for Paris, Dembélé named world's best player

It is the crowning moment of an exceptional season for Paris Saint-Germain and Ousmane Dembélé. On Monday 22 September at the Châtelet Theatre in Paris, the Parisian number 10 received the most prestigious individual prize in football, the Ballon d’Or, and becomes the first French player to win it while wearing the Red and Blue shirt. Paris Saint-Germain were also named Men’s Team of the Season and Luis Enrique was named Coach of the Year.

Proud of its team and its success, Paris Saint-Germain has seen an exceptional season acknowledged by the football world. The Ballon d’Or won by Ousmane Dembélé, Luis Enrique named Coach of the Year and Paris Saint-Germain claiming the title of Men’s Team of the Year come with a record nine nominations for the Men’s Ballon d’Or (Ousmane Dembélé, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Désiré Doué, Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha). Lucas Chevalier was nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year, which was won by the Parisians’ goalkeeper of the 2024-2025 season, Gianluigi Donnarumma, whom the Club congratulates.

The Ballon d’Or shines Red & Blue

After an exceptional 2024-2025 season that saw the Club claim an historic quadruple, Ousmane Dembélé established himself as integral to the team’s success with 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 games. Voted Player of the Season at the UNFP Awards as well as being named the Champions League Player of the Year for 2025, Ousmane Dembélé was the man who made the difference with goals against Liverpool and Arsenal in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively, as well as two assists in the final.

After arriving at PSG in summer 2023, our number 10 had already enjoyed a remarkable debut season with two goals and an assist in the Champions League quarter-finals. The top assister in Ligue 1, he ended the 2023-2024 campaign with a Ligue 1 winner’s medal, a Trophée des Champions and a Coupe de France. In two seasons in the French capital, he has already left his mark on the Club’s history.

Global recognition for Luis Enrique, named Coach of the Year

The architect of an historic season, Luis Enrique won the Johan Cruyff trophy for the best men’s team coach of the 2024-2025 season. In charge of the Paris Saint-Germain men’s first team since 2023, the Spanish technician enjoyed an exceptional 2024-2025 campaign, guiding his side to an unprecedented quadruple as well as a fifth trophy with the European Super Cup in August. Luis Enrique also orchestrated the Red and Blue’s record run of 39 successive away games without defeat, the longest such series in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

In two seasons, he has won two league titles, two Coupes de France, two Trophées des Champions, a European Super Cup and the Champions League. Named the UNFP’s Ligue 1 Coach of the Year, Luis Enrique and his staff have been rewarded for all the work they have put in since their arrival in July 2023.

Off the pitch, Luis Enrique also received the Prix Socrates, which recognises charitable initiatives by footballers, for the XANA Foundation he established with his wife, Elena Cullell.

The Rouge & Bleu squad centre stage: PSG named “Club of the Year”

Admired Europe-wide for the collective strength shown during their successful Champions League campaign, Paris Saint-Germain was named “Men’s Club of the Year” for the first time in its history. This award acknowledges the exceptional teamwork that was a cornerstone of an ambitious and successful project and resulted in a trophy-filled 2024-2025 season that earned the club a place in football history.

Under Luis Enrique, the Rouge & Bleu won a 13th French championship, secured six games from the end of the season with a record 30-game unbeaten streak, a 16th Coupe de France, and a 13th Trophée des Champions, reinforcing Paris Saint-Germain’s position as the most-decorated club in all domestic competitions. To crown it all, the 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final, which made the Club the second-youngest winner in the competition’s history. At the start of August, Paris Saint-Germain also won the European Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur to launch the new season in style and pick up a fifth trophy of 2025.

PSG pays tribute to Ousmane Dembélé

Paris Saint-Germain has created a collector’s edition T-shirt to honour Ousmane Dembélé’s achievement, his exceptional talent, which was supported by the rest of the team, and to give fans the chance to have a unique memento of this historic occasion.

The T-shirt will be available to pre-order on store.psg.fr as soon as the Ballon d’Or is announced on 22 September 2025 and in limited quantities in the official Paris Saint-Germain boutiques from 23 September.
