Just ten days before the first pre-season friendly, part of the squad officially returned to training on Monday morning in Poissy. Whilst some players are still absent following another hectic club season, followed by the World Cup and then a well-deserved break, the squad present held their first training session at around 11am.
All wearing the home training kit for the first time, Alessandro Longoni, Lucas Chevalier, Matvey Safonov, Lucas Beraldo, Illia Zabarnyi, Dro Fernandez, Senny Mayulu, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Quentin Ndjantou officially kicked off the capital club’s 2026–2027 season.
It was a particular opportunity for the first player on the above list, former AC Milan goalkeeper and Paris Saint-Germain’s first summer signing, to explore the training ground in Yvelines and take part in his first session in red and blue under a slightly overcast sky and with the temperature at around 20 degrees.
As a reminder, the reigning back-to-back European champions’ preparations will begin with their first pre-season match against Spanish side RCD Mallorca on Wednesday 5th August at 9pm at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, followed by a second fixture against English side Manchester United three days later at 5pm at the Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg, Sweden.
