A few days after their win over Olympique Lyonnais (2–0), Paris returned to Ligue 1 action, aiming to build on their momentum away at Le Havre. And despite sitting bottom of the table, the Ciel & Marine showed right from the start that they were determined to give the Parisians a run for their money, pressing high up the pitch. The Normans were quick to push forward whenever possible, and Rayan Fofana delivered a perfect cross for Josh Maja, who finished off a lightning-fast counter-attack from the home side (1–0, 18'). But this was not enough to derail the Rouge et Bleu’s plans, as they started the game well.
Luis Enrique’s players continued to dictate the play, and Lucas Hernández played a superb through ball to Achraf Hakimi, who set up Mika Godts to equalise for Paris (1–1, 26'). The capital club’s ever-present captain then found himself on the scoresheet: following a perfectly timed pass from Senny Mayulu, the Moroccan full-back burst into the Le Havre box on the right and beat Arnaud Bodart at the near post (1–2, 28'). Paris kept pressing and Warren Zaïre-Emery came close, but Djibril Ouziad made a great block to keep his side in the game (38').
In the second half, the pace naturally slowed after a blistering first half. But the Rouge et Bleu's ambition remained, personified by a hungry Achraf Hakimi. The Parisian No. 2 put his side two goals ahead with a perfectly struck free-kick (1–3, 55'), before slipping back into the role of playmaker moments later, when he played a through ball to Senny Mayulu, who capitalised on the opposing goalkeeper’s risky rush off his line to extend the lead (1–4, 62').
The capital club showed no signs of stopping and still had more to give, led once again by Achraf Hakimi who, following some fine work by Mika Godts on the left wing, secured the first hat-trick of his career (1–5, 69’). Nothing could stop Luis Enrique’s men, and Matvey Safonov's reflexes maintained the lead, stopping an effort from Mbwana Samatta (87'). The Rouge et Bleu's last line of defence then denied Rassoul Ndiaye (90'+3), allowing Paris Saint-Germain to secure a comfortable victory at the Stade Océane.
The one-on-one between Senny Mayulu and goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart, 40 metres from the Le Havre goal, was won by our Parisian Titi, who scored his second goal of the week!
