Check out the key numbers ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Champions League last-16 tie between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea FC, which kicks off at 21:00 CET tonight at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain is one of just three clubs – alongside Bayern Munich and Real Madrid – to have made it to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League in every season since 2012–2013.

Les Parisiens have faced eight different English teams competitively over the years: Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur. Only Spain has provided more opponents (10) for Les Rouge et Bleu than England, while Germany and Italy both boast seven clubs in this respect.

Paris will be taking on Chelsea competitively for the 10th time tonight, having picked up three wins, three draws and three losses in the two teams’ previous meetings.

11 men have played for both teams: Alex, Nicolas Anelka, David Luiz, Enrique De Lucas, Lassana Diarra, Mateja Kežman, Claude Makélélé, Christopher Nkunku, Thiago Silva, George Weah and Ray Wilkins.

Since January 2025, Les Parisiens have played 11 matches against English opposition: a 4-2 win over Manchester City, a 1-0 loss to Liverpool followed by a 1-0 win over the same opponent (leading to a 4-1 win for Paris on penalties), a 3-1 win at home to Aston Villa followed by a 3-2 loss at Villa Park, a 1-0 win and then a 2-1 win over Arsenal, a 3-0 loss to Chelsea, a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur (followed by a 4-2 win on penalties) and then a 5-3 win over the same opponent, as well as a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United. Paris’s record in this respect therefore stands at six wins, two draws and three losses.

Les Rouge et Bleu have welcomed English clubs to the Parc des Princes on 20 occasions, registering nine wins, six draws and five losses in the process.

This will be the 23rd European last-16 tie in the history of Paris Saint-Germain’s men’s team dating back to 1983. In their previous 22 appearances at this stage, Les Parisiens have gone through 14 times and been eliminated eight times.

This will also be Paris’s 42nd match of all time against English opposition. Having met Arsenal seven times, Aston Villa twice, Chelsea themselves nine times, Liverpool six times, Manchester City eight times, Manchester United four times, Newcastle United three times and Tottenham Hotspur twice, Les Rouge et Bleu have recorded 14 wins, 11 draws and 16 losses against teams from across the Channel.
