In coming from behind to beat Racing in Alsace, the club from the capital recorded its sixth consecutive victory in all competitions. Only FC Barcelona (10), their next opponents, have a longer active winning streak among teams in Europe’s top five leagues. It was also Paris’s fourth consecutive league victory, allowing Luis Enrique’s players to move, at least provisionally, to the top of the Ligue 1 table.
By finding the net at the Meinau, Paris extended their scoring run to 27 consecutive matches in the top flight, having scored in every league match since their 1–0 defeat away to Monaco on 29 November 2025. They have also scored in each of their last 21 away matches in all competitions, netting 46 goals. That's at least eight more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues among those with an ongoing run.
All three players who scored on Saturday evening, defender Illia Zabarnyi and Parisian forwards Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, opened their Ligue 1 scoring accounts for the season. Dembélé, who also provided the assist for the equaliser, has been involved in nine goals in his last five competitive appearances for Paris (four goals and five assists)! Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain’s number 9, Ferran Torres, picked up his first assist in France.
Making seven saves against Strasbourg, the Parisian goalkeeper once again proved decisive between the posts, helping his team stay in the game before their comeback. Rightfully named Man of the Match, the red-and-blue shot-stopper was even directly involved in the club from the capital’s third goal, playing a part in their victory in Alsace. He will be looking to maintain this form on Tuesday 20 October, as Paris take on Barcelona on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League league phase. Kick-off is at 21:00 at the Parc des Princes!
