Renato Marin signs with Paris Saint-Germain for five seasons
Born on 10 July 2006 in São Paulo, Renato Belluci Marin discovered football in Brazil and quickly stood out thanks to his physical attributes and technical skills. In 2020, he moved with his family to Rome, Italy, to join the AS Roma youth set-up. He made his debut with the U17 team in September 2022 in a match against Lecce. During the 2022-2023 season, he played 15 matches with the U17 team and won the championship final against Inter Milan. He also played three matches with the Roman club's U18 team.
On 7 January 2024, Renato Marin made his first appearance on the first team bench at home to Atalanta. At the age of 17, he became the starting goalkeeper for AS Roma Primavera, playing 39 matches – including 13 clean sheets – during the 2023-2024 season.
His performances earned him a place in the Italian U19 squad in September 2023, with whom the goalkeeper, who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, played 13 matches. A regular starter in last summer's European U19 Championship, he helped his team reach the semi-finals of the competition.
Last season, the 19-year-old goalkeeper made 28 appearances for Claudio Ranieri's first team, including the first six games of the Europa League. He also played 11 games for AS Roma Primavera, the club's reserve team.
After five years in Italy, Renato Marin joins France's capital club.
"I am very happy to be joining this great team, it's a wonderful opportunity for me. It's a dream come true. I would like to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos, coach Luis Enrique and his staff for this opportunity. I will give my best for them and for the fans,"
Renato Marin's reaction can be found exclusively on and on all Paris Saint-Germain digital platforms.
