The Parisians are set to face another of the league’s top sides. Having beaten Le Havre in their opening game of the league season (0–1), AS Monaco have shown they can perform well away from home and at home too, as last week the team from the Rock saw off Marseille at the Louis II (2–0). At the Parc des Princes, the Monegasques will therefore be aiming to secure a third consecutive victory to kick off a season in which they are once again expected to be among the frontrunners.
For their part, Paris Saint-Germain remain unbeaten so far this season in the top flight, despite two hard-fought draws away at Rennes (2–2) and then against Lille (2–2). Up north, Luis Enrique’s men staged an incredible comeback in stoppage time, scoring two goals in four minutes and sending a strong message to their rivals. Now, the Parisians will be looking to secure their first league win in what promises to be a lively encounter at the Porte d’Auteuil.

6 – Paris Saint-Germain scored six goals in second-half stoppage time in Ligue 1 in 2026, at least two more than any other team in the top flight this year. As for ASM, the club from the Principality has not conceded a single goal in this period of play since August 2025.
10 – The capital club have won their first home league match of the season in 10 of the last 12 campaigns (1 draw, 1 defeat over that period).
In Monaco’s line-up, ASM’s new manager Filipe Luís is expected to retain Lukas Hradecky in goal. The highly experienced Finnish international (105 caps) is now preferred to Philipp Köhn, and he is likely to be accompanied in front of him by former Tottenham player Eric Dier. The England international has regained his place in the starting line-up, but it remains to be seen who will partner him in central defence. The place of former Paris Saint-Germain player Thilo Kehrer appears to be under threat following the arrival of Sadibou Sané, who has very quickly settled into the Monaco defence. As for Mohammed Salisu, the Ghanaian rock is still injured and will therefore miss the match.
At right-back, competition is fierce between Vanderson and Jordan Teze. Whilst the Brazilian international appears to have the edge over the Dutch international, the latter’s return from injury could shake things up. On the opposite side, summer signing Nazinho is expected to start. Having joined from Cercle Brugge, the Portuguese Under-21 international could be preferred to the versatile Christian Mawissa. In midfield, captain Denis Zakaria will, of course, be expected to feature. As the team’s leader, the Swiss international is expected to be partnered by Lamine Camara.
Continuing to play at a high level, the Senegalese international is now a key figure in Monaco’s starting XI, enabling the Principality club to boast one of the most solid midfields in the top flight. Further up the pitch, the indispensable Aleksandr Golovin is expected to take the reins of ASM’s play in a playmaker role where his influence is well established. On the wings, however, the Brazilian manager will have to do without Takumi Minamino and Ansu Fati, who are both injured. On the right flank, Mamadou Coulibaly is therefore the favourite to start against the Parisians.
Accustomed to playing in the centre of the pitch, the French Under-21 international has demonstrated his qualities in this new position. He is therefore likely to be the first-choice option out wide, whilst the young Anis Soubeir (19) could come on as a substitute during the game. On the left wing, Belgian Under-21 international Stanis Idumbo continues to improve and appears to have the upper hand in his battle with the promising Mathys Detourbet (19). Finally, up front, Matthis Abline could return to the squad without being in contention for a starting place, which should benefit Paris Brunner – who has made a remarkable start to the season – or Danish international Mika Biereth, whilst Folarin Balogun could miss the match.
