Luis Enrique: “It’s a real pleasure to be back with our supporters”

The Paris Saint-Germain manager spoke at a press conference on Thursday 3rd September 2026, on the eve of the Ligue 1 Matchday 3 fixture between Paris and Monaco.
“I think that when we’re talking about top-flight sport, that’s the minimum standard you need to have, but it’s difficult to reach that level. What we’ve shown in these opening few matches is our mental strength. It’s something that’s always there for us. We’ve played two tough away matches to start with and that’s never easy. We’re really looking forward to returning to the Parc tomorrow, to our supporters, and we want to win this first home match.”
“We always prepare well for matches, but when you look at the first two matchdays, things don’t always go to plan. That’s football. We’re always looking at the medium or long term; we’ll need the support of our fans from the first minute to the last to pick up the three points. Monaco are a good side, with a manager I really like, because he isn’t afraid to take risks to make his team tough to play against and play attractive football.”
