Nuno Mendes: "Happy to be part of PSG's history"

The Portuguese international has extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. He tells us how happy he is to be continuing with the capital club.

Nuno, how do you feel after your extension with Paris?
"I'm very proud to be extending my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. It's a club where I've felt good since I arrived. I'm very happy to be continuing with the club."
What does it mean to you to be a Paris Saint-Germain player?
"It means a lot, because it's a big club, a club with a great history that has had many great players. I'm very happy to be part of the history of this great club. PSG is special. It's like a family to me, and my team-mates feel the same. As I said, I was very well welcomed when I arrived, I was 18, it was different from what I'd experienced before, it was a new country too. I'm very grateful for everything."
How would you describe your relationship with the fans?
"The supporters are very important to us, here in Paris we have supporters who never stop. They sing until the last minute, at every match. That support is very important to us when we're out on the pitch. We know they're there, that they support us, and that means a lot to us. You see it on the pitch, for me this relationship with the fans is incredible."
You're a real Parisian now...
"Paris is a multicultural city, and I really like it. I feel good here, and there are lots of Portuguese people! It's easier for me. I've learnt French, and Paris is my second home!"
How do you see your development since joining PSG?
"I arrived here at the age of 18 and today I'm 22. I've grown up and learnt so much from my team-mates, the experienced players and the youngsters too... You learn every day, and I'm here to learn. I think that's still the case, and I hope it continues!"
