The first day of the Tournoi de Paris was full of emotions! After the match between Bordeaux and Roma (1-1), PSG won against FC Porto after a match punctuated with the numerous chances created by both sides.
The Porto players created the first chance through Falcao who, alone against Edel, saw his effort fly over the bar. The match only really got going after half an hour. Hulk (29’) and the former Parisian Cristian Rodriguez (40’) came close to opening the scoring, but PSG did not just sit back. Kezman (32’, 38’) and Armand (36’) saw their attempts pushed away by Kieszek.
Porto dominated the start of the second half, but Guarin (47’) and Falcao (56’) were unable to beat Edel. It was at this moment that Chantôme decided to sound the revolt. The midfielder came close to opening the scoring from a free-kick (61’), then played in crosses for Erding (62’), Makelele (63’) and Camara (67’), without success. Right at the end of the encounter, Kezman (87’) thought he had given the advantage to Paris, but it was finally Traoré who saved the day. The PSG defender was at the reception of a cross from Ceara and fired past Helton (1-0, 90’).
It was an exciting end to the encounter for PSG, who will try and confirm their first place against AS Roma, tomorrow at 19h00 at the Parc des Princes. Before the finale of the tournament, Bordeaux will face FC Porto at 16h45.
