PSG were beaten 1-0 by... Ruffier. The Monaco ‘keeper made a series of incredible save which allowed his side to register the win against the run of play.
Incredible, imperial, unbeatable! There are plenty of words you could use, but none really do justice to the remarkable performance from the Monégasque shot-stopper. Stéphane Ruffier, produced a series of one-on-one saves to keep his side in the game and then preserve their lead to claim all three points.
Les Parisiens were ahead on points at half-time. While Park (1’) and Nenê (17’) had chances, Antoine Kombouaré’s side had chances of their own, through Luyindula (3’, 20’, 37’, 44’) and Chantôme (3’). The second half brought more of the same. Chantôme’s free-kick was arrowing into the top corner before Ruffier intervened (49’). And when the principality custodian was beaten, it was the crossbar that denied Giuly (51’) and Luyindula (66’). From the attack which followed Luyindula’s effort off the woodwork, Muratori crossed and Edel scored an own goal(0-1, 68’).

The home side poured forward to find an equaliser but Ruffier was untouchable. The last kick of the game perfectly captured the hosts anguish. At the end of stoppage time, Hoarau shot towards an empty net, only for Ruffier to appear from nowhere and ensure the win! PSG saw the three points slip away. The capital club will try to bounce back against Evian in the French Cup rd-of-32 at the Parc on Sunday.
