Paris suffered a frustrating 1-0 away to Bordeaux in Week 16 after creating a number great goal-scoring chances, without ever finding a way through.
Full of confidence after their consecutive wins over Auxerre (1-0) and Boulogne (2-5), Antoine Kombouaré's side wanted to avenge their 4-0 loss away to Les Girondins last season. Yet despite the constant pressing from the Parisians, it was the home side that created the early running through Gouffran (2') and then Sertic (15'). Paris was patiently trying to build their game but were finally beaten by Plasil's header from a Tremoulinas cross (1-0, 24e).
Antoine Kombouaré was then denied the services of Mevlut Erding who sprained a knee and was replaced by Jean-Eudes Maurice (32'). Far from surrendering, Les Rouge et Bleu stepped up a gear. Stéphane Sessegnon picked out Jean-Eudes Maurice's run who slid the ball between the legs of Carrasso, but the ball deflected off the 'keepers right boot and rolled centimetres across the face of goal (36').

After the half-time break, Peguy Luyindula had two chances to equalise (50', 79'), before crossing across the face of goal where three Parisians were waiting for the ball (85'), but it just didn't want to go in. Edel was having a great game at the other end, but the capital club were to have no luck. The run of back to back wins comes to an end at the champions. But PSG will again be looking to bounce back next Sunday at the Parc des Princes against Saint-Etienne.
