Match Report | 2009-12-02 | 21:14

A second-half onslaught saw Antoine Kombouaré’s men move back into the top half of the Ligue 1 table courtesy of a 5-2 win over Boulogne on Wednesday.

Just four days after beating Auxerre 1-0, Les Rouge et Bleu had the chance to climb back into the business of the standings with a win in their rescheduled Week 14 clash. A chance they took with both hands.

Les Rouge et Bleu controlled the play in the opening stages of the match away to Boulogne without able creating any clear-cut chances. The promoted side snatched the lead via Ducatel’s long-range effort which flew into the top corner of Edel’s goal. It was their first shot of the match (1-0; 36’). And that was the half-time score.

Trailing at the break, the Parisian’s came out for the second period with all guns blazing. And the pressure paid with the capital club scoring four goals in just nine minutes. Second-half sub Peguy Luyindula had been on the park just seconds when he set up Clément Chantôme at the back post. The midfielder’s control and shot saw the Parisians back on level terms (1-1; 60’). The home side barely knew what had hit them when the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Mevlut Erding, which Luyindula put away to send the Parisians into the lead (1-2; 64’).

The capital club didn’t stop there. Younousse Sankharé’s cross from the left was met by Eding to score the third (1-3; 67’). And the former Sochaux ace got his second and PSG’s fourth of the night two minutes later after good lead-up work from Sylvain Armand and Peguy Luyindula down the left (1-4; 69’).

With PSG home and hosed, Ramaré reduced the deficit for the hosts from the penalty spot (2-4; 82’). In the final minutes, Jean-Eudes Maurice completed the scoring, netting his first ever Ligue 1 goal after another Sankharé cross (2-5; 86’). Thanks to a comprehensive 5-2 win, Antoine Kombouaré’s charges are warming up for Saturday’s trip to Bordeaux in the best possible conditions.
