The Parc des Princes was on its feet, giving a rousing ovation for its new hero, Jules Bocandé. Scorer of four goals in the final against Sporting Lisbon, the Senegalese striker stunned everyone present. But their elation at his stupendous performance was matched by their disappointment at the fact that in three matches in the Tournoi de Paris, Bocandé scored as many goals (six) as he had in two full league seasons at the capital club.
