Sidelined due to a deep vein thrombosis in his right calf muscle, PSG defender Papus Camara is maintaining a positive attitude as the new Ligue 1 season looms large...
"As soon as preseason training started I felt a problem in the right calf muscle which just kept getting worse and worse. The PSG doctor Eric Rolland decided to run some extra tests and that's when he discovered the deep vein thrombosis."
How did you take the news?
"When I heard I was out for three months, that was a hard to take! I really didn't think I'd be out for that long. But now I've just got to get on with it, keep the morale up and, above all, make sure I get better as soon as possible. I'll take a few weeks off and then work out a programme with the club medical staff."
Can you give us your thoughts on the PSG squad this season?
It's more or less the same squad as last season with some new players. During the training camp, the atmosphere was excellent and everything went well with wins over Pontivy (2-0) and Nantes (2-0). The coach has really insisted on installing a winning mentality in the squad."
