Antoine Kombouaré, Claude Makélélé, Sylvain Armand and Mevlut Erding spoke about the Champions Trophy match.

Antoine Kombouaré (PSG manager): “We are very disappointed, as we were in control of the match and were solid. We carved out the best chances, but were unable to kill off the match. There is a lot of frustration, as only a victory is satisfying. It was very hot and physically draining. I saw a lot of good points though, it was a positive preparation match”.

Didier Deschamps (OM manager): “We are in the continuity of last season. It’s good that we won, even if it was a tight match which could have gone either way. The quality of play was good, there were some good opportunities, but no goals as the two keepers were in form. We played as we did last year, looking to lay out our game calmly and with control, even if the players were not at 100% of their physical capabilities. What is important is that we keep on winning”. Claude Makelele (PSG captain): “It’s a shame to lose as there was a trophy up for grabs. We were playing this match to win and not as a preparation game. There was some good play and we need to build on that so as not to have any regrets this season. Physically I feel good, I have put in a good pre-season preparation, I’m getting stronger but can go even further still”.

Mevlut Erding (PSG striker): “I’m frustrated because we had the best chances. I really wanted to win this match. It’s cruel, frustrating. This was a game that was very important as far as I was concerned”.

Sylvain Armand (PSG defender): “The dominating emotion is disappointment that we lost. However, we saw some good play this evening and there are positive points to take from this game. We created chances without being able to finish them off. The atmosphere was great. I hope that we will be able to retain this team spirit and keep on enjoying being out on the pitch”.
