PSG midfielder Jérémy Clément looks back at the capital club’s scoreless draw away to Nancy last weekend and ahead to Saturday’s visitors to the Parc des Princes, Toulouse.

Jérémy, PSG kept a cleansheet against Nancy. Was the squad satisfied with the draw?
“We’re happy to have got a point after four straight losses. It was crucial to stop that series of defeats. We got a draw away to Nancy, even if we could have done better. We had several chances to open the scoring. The positive was that we didn’t concede a goal. I think if we had a little more confidence, we could have beaten them.”

We felt like the side really wants to keep that cleansheet...
“Yes, when we looked back at the season recently, the coach pointed out that we’d only kept four cleansheets in the league (Lille 3-0, Saint-Etienne 3-0, Auxerre 1-0 and Grenoble 4-0). At the top, the most important thing is to defend well and then take your chances up front. We were solid on Saturday. That’s good, because after Vesoul in the Cup, that was a second consecutive match without conceding. We’re going to try and maintain that, while getting forward to score ourselves.”

PSG is hosting its next two games with Toulouse and then Marseille. Have you set specific aims for these two games?
“First of all we’re going to concentrate on the Toulouse game. We’ll do everything to defend well and get all three points. That’s important because we need to get our confidence back. I hope we play well. Toulouse are a very physical team. Up front they have quality so we have to keep them under wraps. We’ll certainly be giving it everything.”

Toulouse look like being without Cetto, Mbengué and Gignac. Is this a good time to take them on?
“They are all first choice. It’s a shame for Toulouse to be without their services. But there will still be 11 motivated players out there. The players that come in will be hoping to shine so it will be a tough game. It’s been a while since we tasted the joy of a win and it’s very important that we get back to winning ways.”
