On the eve of his club’s trip to Nancy, PSG coach Antoine Kombouaré looks back at his side’s recent performances and hopes that his side can register a first league win of 2010 in Lorraine...
Coach, have you changed your normal preparations for Saturday’s trip to Nancy?“We’ll see on Saturday. At any rate there are always things to change and improve upon to help us win. We’ve shown some good things in the league, but we have to win now. If I draw upon our last away game, against Lyon, there were plenty of promising things, but it ended in a loss. We have to build on the positive things from that game and above all: not concede a goal because that’s been our undoing in recent weeks.” Since the start of the season, you’ve always stressed the importance of the style as well as the result. Are you prepared to sacrifice the style now?
“I still feel that to win matches, you have to play well, but I will be very happy if we play badly and get a win, I’ll even be over the moon.”

“That’s good. I’m happy to hear him say that because I agree. When we’re not well placed in the league, we tend to talk less but the important thing is to stop the slide. We did that in qualifying for the quarter-finals of the French Cup against Vesoul and now we have to keep moving forward in the league.” How do you boost the players’ confidence during these difficult times?
“We need to win. That’s what we did against Vesoul on Wednesday. It was very important. Since then a lot has been said and we’ve been training to improve bits and pieces, but the most important thing is still to do it in the game and we need to do it this Saturday.” What do you think of this Nancy side?
“They’ve taken four from a possible six points in their last two games. In their last home game they struggled to overcome Lorient... but they beat them all the same. The week before that got a draw at Sochaux and they really should have won it. They were leading and had chances to get a second goal before Sochaux equalised late on. They’re back in form and we’re going to have to produce a great game on Saturday.”
