On Wednesday morning upon their return from Vesoul, the professional squad was met at the Parc des Princes by the club’s supporters. PSG coach Antoine Kombouaré invited the unhappy fans to the Camp des Loges to discuss the club’s current situation...
Antoine Kombouaré (PSG coach)“I wanted to hear what they had to say and also tell them what I thought. Obviously we understand that they’re unhappy, they have every right. But they need to understand that the whole club is also unhappy, the board, the players and me first and foremost. The supporters have the right to express their frustration, their disappointment. But I asked them not to use insults or violence. You can be disappointed but you have to remain respectful. Violence never solved anything, it mustn’t go that far – that’s what I said this afternoon. The dialogue between the supporters and us has always been open. It’s up to us to win back their support and that comes with victories.” Claude Makelele, PSG captain, also took part in the meeting.
| The club would also like to confirm that the bus was not attacked, as certain media reports suggested. There was a simple, honest discussion between the players and unhappy supporters. This discussion was later continued at the Camp des Loges. |
