Robin Leproux, Antoine Kombouaré and Mevlut Erding talk about PSG’s 1-0 French Cup win over Vesoul.
Robin Leproux (PSG president)“It’s a very good victory given the current context and the rough patch we’re going through. It is also thoroughly deserved because the pitch was in no way up to the required standard for the French Cup last-16. We didn’t watch a football match. I was very concerned for the health of my players. In the end it wasn’t too bad, except what Stéphane (Sessegnon) reacted to. He was afraid he was going to get hurt.” Antoine Kombouaré (PSG coach)
“It’s a huge relief and a big satisfaction because this was the potential Cup upset par excellence. To take on a hyper-motivated side on a synthetic pitch is tough. It was important to qualify to get some confidence back and break the negative run of results. We’d also like to pay homage to this Vesoul team that caused us a lot of problems.” Mevlut Erding (PSG striker)
“We wanted to qualify and it didn’t matter how. We did the job. We played on a very tough pitch but we managed to score and then defend our lead. That’s the main thing.”
