Mevlut Erding talks about the French Cup qualification over Evian, his attacking partnership with Guillaume Hoarau and this weekend’s trip to Lyon.

Mevlut, what have you taken from the win over Evian?
“The most important thing is that we got the win. We took the chances that came our way. We didn’t get many, but Guillaume and I put them away. I get on really well with Guillaume off the pitch so I think we’re going to form a great partnership on it.”


Did the team worry at all when Evian pulled a goal back?
“We had a couple of moments, but after their goal, we stayed focused and got a third goal through Guillaume. It was a tough game against a third division side that are going to return to win promotion to Ligue 2. Guillaume got one and I got two and that’s very important for the confidence.”

Next weekend, it’s back to Ligue 1 duty and a trip to Lyon...
“We’re going to recover from the weekend game first of all. This win is a big boost ahead of Sunday’s game. We’re going to prepare all week for the game and look to get at least a point at Lyon.”
