Kombouaré: ‘Didn’t do enough going forward’

Reactions | 2009-11-20 | 23:20

Antoine Kombouaré, Mevlut Erding and Christophe Jallet react to PSG’s 1-0 loss away to Marseille on Friday.

Antoine Kombouaré (PSG coach)
“It’s a huge disappointment, because aside from the defeat, our first-half display was very poor. We didn’t defend well and we left them far too much possession. We were eaten alive in the midfield and couldn’t play at all. We played better towards the end of the first half and played well in the second half, pushing very hard towards the end. Having said that, we didn’t do enough going forward to really worry them.”

Mevlut Erding (PSG forward)
“This loss really hurts. We didn’t start well and Marseille took advantage of that to open the scoring. We didn’t even have a chance, perhaps one before half-time. Marseille weren’t amazing, but overall, they were the better team.”

Christophe Jallet (PSG defender)
“Our first half was terrible. We didn’t play at all for the first 30 minutes and we conceded yet another goal from a set piece. That goal really hit us hard and we struggled to get back into the game.”
