Coach, did the match against Braga live up to your expectations?
“In certain respects. We got the win and that was very important in itself. We also took our chances up front. The goal we conceded takes the gloss off a little, but the most important thing for the confidence was to get back to winning ways and that’s the best way to approach the game with Marseille.”

The friendly match was a chance for you to see some players for a full 90 minutes…
“It was very important to get some of them playing again. The first aim was to maintain the competitive rhythm. We also needed to adapt to a Portuguese football side and work on our understanding between our players, including those who haven’t played much this season. All of that together, along with the win is very positive for the squad.”

You celebrate your birthday on Monday. A win over Marseille would be the ideal birthday present…
“That would be a magnificent gift! We’re going there looking for the three points because that would see us climb up the standings and prepare in the best possible way for the visit of Auxerre.”

How are you approaching the game against OM?
“It will be passionate, very physical and, I hope, very competitive. We’ll be up against a very motivated opponent. Les Marseillais have a few weaknesses and it’s up to us to exploit them. We’re are taking this match very seriously. We saw their last game against Lyon. It was a great game in which they showed plenty of strength and character, but also a few problem areas. At any rate, it will take a great PSG to bring something back from the trip to Marseille.”
