Kombouaré: ‘Maintain the same approach’

Reactions | 2009-10-03 | 22:40

Check out who said what after PSG’s 1-1 home draw with Nancy in Ligue 1 Week 8.

Antoine Kombouaré (PSG coach)
“It’s disappointing. We’re not making any headway in the league table. I don’t have a whole lot to reproach the players for, except for failing to hit the target. We’re very disappointed by the result. The players really gave it everything. We were solid, because Nancy only created one or two chances and we need to maintain the same approach. In terms of their attitude, the players were fantastic.”

Pablo Correa (Nancy coach)
“We’re very satisfied because PSG are very good at the Parc des Princes. I’m very happy because we showed enough guts and determination to bring something back from this trip. It’s good to get a point, even if we would have preferred to get in slightly different circumstances.”

Grégory Coupet (PSG goalkeeper)
“It’s frustrating. We created a lot of goal-scoring opportunities and tried to create. The hard work will end by paying off. We doing well, we just lack that success in front of goal. We managed to come from behind and equalise and that’s important. We’ve dropped more points at home and they are costly. Nancy had a big slice of luck for their goal because the miss-hit shot became a perfect assist. We need to be a little stronger in the challenges. It’s time to earn some real points. We can’t start doubting ourselves and we need to go on a little run now away from home.”

Sammy Traoré (PSG defender)
“We copped a goal against the run of play from a shot that wasn’t even on target. The ball just doesn’t want to go in for us at the moment and the international break is going to be good for us to get back to work. We’re struggling a little up front, but we’ll fight back. But we did show again that we can play football. Now we have two tough away games (Toulouse and Marseille) but we’re capable of getting the points on the road. We’re frustrated and disappointed because, again, we played well.”

Guillaume Hoarau (PSG attacker)
“We’ve stalled and it’s tough. We keep working hard to fix the little things. We need to keep working because we aren’t getting the results. We need to take a step back during the break and keep working. Personally, I should be doing better. I hope our luck will change.”

Stéphane Sessegnon (PSG midfielder)
“It’s a shame because we deserve more considering how the game went. That’s football... we lacked the final touch and a bit of luck. We created our fair share of chances but we can’t be happy with just one point. We never gave up and we fought until the end. We’re a little frustrated but we mustn’t get worried. I hope the international break does us some good.”
