Kombouaré: ‘Plenty of ambition’

Coach’s Conference | 2009-09-25 | 17:40

Antoine Kombouaré spoke to us about Saturday’s trip to Lorient and his positive reaction to the CNOSF decision to overrule the club’s partial stadium ban.

Antoine, you said you made an impression against Lyon. Now you have to make some points against Lorient on Saturday...
“Absolutely. We wanted to make our mark against Lyon by showing we could play football, but also by claiming the three points for the win. That wasn’t the case so now we need to go on with it and get those points. I hope we can do it against Lorient.”

It’s not the same opponent...
“That doesn’t matter. We have a lot of respect for this Lorient team. We’re heading their with plenty of ambition and desire to win this match of football. We’ll need to be solid at the back and play to score goals. Perhaps Lorient will leave us possession of the ball and try and hit us on the counterattack, because they have very quick players up front. It’s going to take a very good PSG tomorrow. In terms of the attitude, I want my players to be confident and ambitious as well as technically good enough to make the difference.”

What do you think about the CNOSF proposition to do away with PSG’s partial stadium ban?
“That’s very good news. And I’d like to take the opportunity to send a little message to our fans. We have to be careful. I’m working on my comportment and I hope the supporters are doing likewise. We need to give a good image and that people talk about the club thanks to its sporting performances and not because of what happens off the pitch.”
