Victim of a deep vein thrombosis in mid-July, Papus Camara took time out to talk about his injury and discuss PSG's form this season in his absence.
Papus, how is your injured calf coming along?"It's going pretty well. The injury itself was not that serious because I didn't break anything. I feel fine in the day to day, but the teatment for this type of peoblem is very long. Three months is a very long time. I'm currently in the middle of an intense training period and I'm nearing the end. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel." You haven't missed kicking a ball too much?
"I've run so much that on the few occasions when I have had a ball, it's kind of just gotten in the way (smile). The team has made a good start to the season, they're playing some good football and I am wanting to get back into action. But I think it's best to be patient, treat the problem propoerly and come back 100 per cent."
"Not too bad! A lot of poeple think we concede too many goals, but if we conceded three goals every game but scored four or five, there would be no problem. The defence isn't just the four defenders, it's the whole team. There are 11 players on the field and it's all about the team spirit. We can always improve, but I think we're doing alright." PSG changed 'keeper this season. has that changed things?
"It's no surprise for us because we all know Grégory Coupet. He's a massively experienced goalie who won lots of silverware at Olympique Lyonnais. He also has international and European experience. He's a reassuring factor for the defence, he talks a lot. As a person, he's a nice guy, always smiling and very positive. He's also very professional and works very hard. He's always early to training working on the weights. At any rate, it's not by chance that he's had a big impact. To still be at the top at his age, you have to work hard."
