Clément: ‘Lots of good things’

Interview | 2009-09-21 | 16:40

Jérémy Clément looks back at PSG’s 1-1 draw against Lyon and ahead to the coming week with trips to Boulogne-sur-Mer in the League Cup on Wednesday and then Lorient on Saturday in the league.

Jérémy, are you disappointed by the Lyon result?
“Absolutely. We got one point but we wanted to win back the ones we lost in Monaco. We’ve stalled a little in the standings and that’s a bit of a shame. Our performance was good though and there were lots of good things. But for me, the most important thing is winning.”

Is it doubly frustrating that the equalising goal was offside?
“We’re all upset. It’s infuriating to cop a goal like that. But there will be calls that go our way this season. It will even itself out. We had a lot of chances, whereas Lyon had very few. It’s frustrating, but that’s football. There will be other matches when we won’t play well and we’ll still get the win. We have to bounce back, stay positive, reproduce this type of performance, while also getting that second goal to kill of the game.”

PSG has a long week with a trip to Boulogne on Wednesday in the League Cup third round and then a Ligue 1 visit to Lorient on Saturday...
“It’s a big week. It’s important to go a long way in the Cups. In general, we do well in the Cups. Then we have to get the points against Lorient. That’s also going to be an important game.”
