Loads of you logged onto the PSG.FR forum to send your questions to Ludovic Giuly – here are some your questions and Ludo’s answers...
Irenou2: Unlike last year, you took part in the entire preseason campaign. How was it and was it very different to those of your previous clubs?“I did a personal preseason at my own training centre, Camp 8. So I’d already done a bit of work before the preseason training began. The official preseason went very well. It’s a lot better to work with the squad than train on your own, which is what I did last season. PSG’s preseason was nothing like the Barcelona or Roma preseason training. At Barcelona, it was only practice matches with lots of skills work but very little physical training – almost always with the ball. In Italy, it’s extreme! On physical and weights work. France is somewhere between the two.” Cyril: What do you want to do when you stop playing?
“Spend time with my children, my family and take it easy. I’ve been a professional, training twice a day, for 20 years and the body needs a break.” LaRumba: What do you think about the new trend of ‘striking’ to leave your club? Is it a generational thing?
“Everyone thinks what they want. If you get good advice, you make the right career choices. But each case is different. I’ve never had a problem and I’ve always respected the clubs where I’ve played. Each time I’ve reached an agreement with the club I was leaving and the club I was joining. Once you show respect for your club, the club has to show respect for you.”

Man5on: What do you think about the injury to Papus Camara?
“We miss him. He should resume running next week. It’s a bit of strange injury (deep vein thrombosis) so you have to be careful. He’s working hard to get back and we’re impatient to have him back in the side.” Parisolivier: What do you think of PSG’s summer recruitment?
“That’s a question for the coach. The three players that joined are very good players. We need them and they are great signings. There are also the young players coming through the ranks and they keep on improving. Since we’re only playing in the championship, I think the squad is fine.” Dharma2: Do you think PSG has the potential to battle with the other big guns for the title?
“We’ll see at the end of the season. For the moment, we’ve made a good start. But we’re not shouting it from the roof tops. We’re keeping our heads down and working – the hardest is still to come. You always have to keep working and take nothing for granted. We’ve started well, but that counts for nothing. The important thing is to finish well.”

Caze66: What are your objectives for the season?
“Do better than last year; on a personal level, but also as a team. You have to improve each season and keep getting better.” Kiki9303: What do you think about the atmosphere in the Parc des Princes? Is it the best atmosphere in France?
“It’s a magnificent stadium and the supporters create an incredible atmosphere. We always want to win for our supporters. We’ll feel right at home at the Parc.” Dr. Destin: What do you think about the competition for places in the PSG squad?
“There’s competition in every club. That’s the law of football. If the competition is healthy, then there’s no problem. There’s a coach and he makes choices. You have to accept those choices and work twice as hard when you not chosen. It’s all part of being a professional footballer – you have to accept it.”
