Antoine Kombouaré, Albert Baning and Stéphane Sessegnon look back at PSG’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Emirates Cup in London.
Antoine Kombouaré (PSG coach)“It was a incredible draw, practically a victory in my opinion. We played really well, and I’m delighted by my players. We were solid and organised at the back and created chances coming forward. I just regretted our lack of luck in front of goal in that first half. We could have killed the game off. Then game the unjustified penalty and the sending off Albert Baning. That made things more difficult. Stéphane Sessegnon played well, respected the orders and stayed disciplined. I’m going to remember the collective team spirit from this match, especially playing ten against 11 for 45 minutes.”
Albert Baning (PSG defender)
“My sending off was very severe. I tackled and the referee decided it was a foul and that I should be sent off. It’s hard to accept and I congratulate the lads for coming back, ten against 11.”
Stéphane Sessegnon (PSG midfielder)
“We played well for the first 30 minutes without managing to score. After the sending off of Albert (Baning) it was tough. We showed great patience before coming back into the game and equalised. We’re very satisfied, and it’s an encouraging match ahead of the start of the season. We growing, both physically and tactically.”
