Paul Le Guen“We had a good season, but we’ve finished empty handed. Finishing in sixth place is a big disappointment, especially when you consider that it came down to goal difference. We worked very hard, we hit the crossbar, but we couldn’t get that goal. We just lacked that little bit of luck. I’m disappointed for the players. We still reached a UEFA Cup quarter-final this season, but we missed out on qualifying for the Champions League next year. We suffered a dip in form over the last six games. It’s all the more upsetting because we let it slip so close to the end. There’s a good squad here and apparently there are plans to bring in some new players so that bodes well for the future.”
Sylvain Armand
“It’s a huge disappointment – we can’t be satisfied with finishing so close to our final goal. We lost out ticket to Europe in the final three matches of the season because we lacked concentration and gave goals away.”
Zoumana Camara
“We stayed focused on what was happening on the pitch and didn’t pay any attention to what was being said in the press. Yet despite all that, we were unable to win this match. We struggled to get going, perhaps that was due to the heat. We all upset that we couldn’t win this match that would have qualified us for Europe next season. While you mustn’t forget how far the club has come this season, to crack at the very end is just infuriating.” (speaking to Canal+)
